The project
Surteco makes decorative surfaces and has sales reps around the world who need to show new designs to customers who cannot touch them. We built an XR platform with three client applications and a central backend: whoever manages the catalogue uploads a design once, and the reps see it appear in their virtual showrooms, in VR or in AR on a phone.
The backend
Everything starts here. Administrators upload textures with metadata and technical specifications, organise them in the catalogue and push them to all client applications. The system tracks catalogue versions by region, manages rep access by area and role, and collects usage data: which products get opened, which combinations people like. Content goes out in the languages of each market.
The VR applications
We made two because the contexts are different.
The Windows + Meta Quest tethered version is for showrooms and events: graphics turned all the way up, advanced lighting, a larger catalogue stored locally.
The Meta Quest standalone version is the one a rep carries in a suitcase: rendering tuned for the headset's hardware, the full catalogue streamed, works anywhere with no other hardware.
Both have photorealistic rooms (kitchens, bathrooms, offices, living rooms) where you swap the materials on floors, walls, cabinets and countertops in real time. You walk around the room, compare several combinations side by side, save and share configurations. Content syncs with the backend on its own.
Need something similar?
We build XR platforms for showing and selling products. If you need to get 3D content to a sales network and show it in VR or AR, let's talk.
