The technology
A touch application built like a publication. Pages laid out with typographic care, high-resolution images, video inside the reading flow, macro details that open on tap, indices to move between collections, chapters and archives.
It is not a slideshow and it is not a PDF with links. It is a book designed for the screen, with the pacing and editing of an author's monograph, plus the depth paper does not have.
The case: C&C Milano at Milan Design Week 2026
Inside The Tactile Atelier we made a virtual book about C&C Milano: the atelier's history, fabric collections, manufacturing processes, macro shots of the yarns. Visitors leafed through it next to the Phygimat and the LED wall, and found the depth a swatch book cannot give.
Who it is for
Luxury, design and fashion brands with a history, an archive or a craft worth telling properly. Permanent showrooms, where the salesperson has a well-made editorial companion at hand. Trade shows and events, where the visitor would like to go deeper but has little time. Corporate museums looking for a contemporary archive format. Collection launches that want an object halfway between a catalogue and a book.
What we bring to every project
The book is a format we reuse and configure. We provide the touch editorial framework (navigation, pages, typography, transitions), content management kept separate from the code so the brand's team updates text, images and video on their own, multiple languages, integration of video, 3D models, audio and macro galleries, and export for kiosks, tablets, totems or dedicated stations.
The typographic design and the choice of images are redone each time: every book is its own publication, not a recoloured template.
Why it works
Screens are everywhere, yet almost never treated as editorial objects. A well-made virtual book moves attention from the interface to the content: the person using it is reading, not operating an app. The pace is reading pace, not scroll pace. And the content stays with the brand, updatable and reusable at a fair, in a showroom, at a private event, on the website.
